How long is a surfing lesson?

A group lesson lasts 2 hours, including 1 hour and 30 minutes of surfing.
A private lesson or a kids’ lesson lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, including 1 hour of surfing.

What should you plan for?

A swimsuit, a towel, and sunscreen!
All surf lesson prices include board and wetsuit rentals, as well as insurance coverage during the session.

Should we arrive early?

You should arrive 15 minutes before your class starts.

How are the groups formed?

Groups are formed based on age, skill level, and the language being studied.

What is the maximum number of students per instructor?

Surf lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 students per instructor.
For kids, we’ve decided to limit the class size to 5.

At what age can you start surfing?

Children ages 6 and up can join the Kids group (ages 6–8).

When can we go surfing?

We offer lessons at the surf school from Easter through All Saints’ Day. However, it’s also possible to take surf lessons in the middle of winter!

What are some reasons why classes might be canceled?

In the event of a lack of waves, a storm, pollution, or an “Enbata” (a powerful gust of wind typical of Hendaye on extremely hot days).

Are classes held as usual if it’s just raining?

Yes.

What do we do if classes are canceled?

We will reschedule them for another time during the week or the year.
If it is not possible to reschedule them, we will refund the class(es).
