What is the duration of a surf lesson?

A group lesson lasts 2 hours including 1.5 hours of surfing.
A private lesson or a Kids lesson lasts 1h30 including 1h of surfing.

What to bring

A swimming costume, towel and sun cream!
All surf lesson prices include board and wetsuit hire as well as insurance during the session.

Do we need to arrive in advance?

You need to arrive 15 minutes before your class starts.

How are the groups formed?

Groups are formed according to age, level as well as the language practiced.

What is the maximum number of students per instructor?

Surf lessons are held with a maximum of 8 students per instructor.
For the Kids we have decided to limit to 5.

From what age can you start surfing?

From the age of 6 you can join the Kids group (6-8 years).

When can we surf?

We have a permanent presence at the Surf School from Easter to All Saints’ Day. However, it is possible to take surf lessons in the middle of winter!

For what reasons might lessons be cancelled?

In case of lack of waves, thunderstorms, pollution or “Enbata” (impressive Hendayan gale on hot days).

What do you learn in a discovery session?

You will discover the basics of surfing, your first gliding sensations as well as the analysis of the marine environment in complete safety. The most adventurous will be up before the end of the session!

Are the lessons maintained in case of simple rain?

Yes.

What do we do if classes are cancelled?

We will reschedule them to another time of the week or year.
If it is impossible to reschedule we will refund the course(s).

What are the different payment methods accepted?

The Hendaye Surf School accepts:
